Birthday Dinner at Macau Tower 360 Café

One of the highlights of my trip was my birthday dinner at Macau Tower 360 Café.

I had booked this experience in advance because I wanted to treat myself on my birthday. It was definitely a bit pricey, but I told myself that since it was my birthday, it was worth it. To get there, I rode Bus 50 going to Macau Tower from Wynn Palace, which cost 6 MOP. The entrance to the tower is located inside a mall complex. I arrived at around 5:30 PM, while the buffet dinner was scheduled to start at 6:00 PM, so I had time to sit down and rest for a while. After about 15 minutes, the staff started calling guests and assisting us to the elevator that takes visitors up to the restaurant.

The 360 Café at Macau Tower is a revolving restaurant located about 223 meters above ground, offering panoramic views of Macau. As the name suggests, the restaurant slowly rotates, allowing diners to enjoy a full 360-degree view of the city skyline, bridges, and surrounding islands while eating.

When I saw the buffet spread, I was honestly overwhelmed by the number of options.

There were so many choices, including:

  • Appetizers
  • Main dishes
  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Pizza and pasta
  • Desserts
  • Drinks

I simply took whatever looked delicious to me and ended up finishing two plates.

As I enjoyed my meal, the restaurant slowly began to rotate, revealing beautiful views of Macau at sunset and nighttime. It was such a relaxing and special moment. To capture the memory, I asked a Filipina crew member to take a photo of me. It was the perfect way to remember my birthday celebration high above the city.

Macau Food Festival Near Macau Tower

After dinner, I went outside the mall and noticed something interesting happening in front of the tower.

There was a food bazaar set up outside, which turned out to be a Macau Food Festival. Different stalls were selling a wide variety of foods, snacks, and drinks. I walked around the area to see what was available. It was lively, with many people enjoying the food and the evening atmosphere. While walking outside, I looked up and saw Macau Tower towering above me. The view from below was just as impressive, so of course I took a few photos of the tower.

After exploring for a while and feeling tired from the long day, I finally headed back to my hotel.

I took Bus 26A, which cost 6 MOP, and returned to my accommodation to rest.

Last Morning in Macau

The next day, I had a 12:00 noon ferry booking to Hong Kong, which I purchased through Klook for Php 1,191.60. Since I still had time in the morning, I decided to explore one more famous attraction before leaving Macau—Senado Square. I checked out of my hotel, brought my luggage with me, and took Bus 26 going to the area for 6 MOP.

Exploring Senado Square

Senado Square is one of the most famous public squares in Macau and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Historic Centre of Macau. The square is known for its beautiful wave-pattern mosaic pavement, colorful colonial buildings, and vibrant atmosphere. Walking through Senado Square feels like stepping into a European town, with Portuguese-style architecture, pastel-colored buildings, and charming streets filled with shops and restaurants. I walked around the area and enjoyed the lively surroundings.

Visiting the Ruins of St. Paul’s

My main goal in Senado Square was to visit the famous Ruins of St. Paul’s. I had seen countless photos of it online, but I really wanted to see it with my own eyes. The walk going there was a bit tiring because the road gradually goes uphill, and I was also dragging my suitcase with me. But when I finally reached the site, I immediately felt that it was completely worth it.

The Ruins of St. Paul’s is the remaining façade of a 17th-century Catholic church, which was destroyed by fire in 1835. Today, it stands as one of the most iconic landmarks in Macau. Seeing the historic structure up close was truly amazing and unforgettable. Interestingly, I also noticed that there was a Uniqlo store right below the ruins, which made the place even more lively with tourists.

A Quick Visit to St. Dominic’s Church

After visiting the ruins, I continued walking around the area and discovered St. Dominic’s Church. When I arrived, a mass was currently in progress, so I quietly stepped inside for a moment to say a short prayer before leaving. There was also a guard standing outside to maintain order.

Hiking Up to Monte Fort

While searching for nearby attractions, I found Monte Fort, another historical site close to the ruins. So once again, dragging my suitcase, I started walking uphill toward the fort. The path going there was different from the one leading to the Ruins of St. Paul’s. The climb was quite tiring, especially since the sun was already getting hot.

Monte Fort, also known as Fortaleza do Monte, was built in the early 1600s as part of Macau’s defense system against naval attacks. Today, it offers beautiful panoramic views of Macau, including the Ruins of St. Paul’s and the surrounding city.

When I reached the top, I saw a large open area where several elderly locals were jogging and exercising. They seemed very friendly, and when I politely asked if they could take a photo of me, they happily agreed. After taking photos, I sat down for a while to rest, enjoy the fresh air, and cool down.

Heading to the Ferry Terminal

After resting, I walked back down from the fort and continued my journey to the Macau Ferry Terminal. I rode a bus going to the ferry port, which again cost 6 MOP, and prepared for the next part of my adventure—Hong Kong.
